Updated 28 Sep 2026 · Gowtham Trading Company, Madurai
Enter the jumbo reel you buy and the billing roll you make. The calculator shows how many finished rolls you get per reel and your paper cost per roll, using our current rates (effective 28 Sep 2026).
Estimates only. Labour, power, packing, printing and freight are not included. Reel cost = (length × rate + ₹125 forwarding) × 1.18 GST.
How the numbers are worked out
- Slits: jumbo width ÷ roll width, rounded down. The leftover is edge trim.
- Rolls per slit: reel length, minus your wastage %, ÷ finished roll length.
- Reel cost: metres × rate, plus ₹125 forwarding, plus 18% GST.
- Cost per roll: reel cost ÷ total rolls, plus your core cost.
Common questions
How many 57 mm rolls come from a 400 mm thermal jumbo reel?
Seven slits of 57 mm use 399 mm of a 400 mm reel. Multiply by how many finished rolls each slit gives — for example 6000 m ÷ 25 m = 240 — to get about 1,680 rolls before trim and rewinding losses.
How many 79 mm rolls come from a 400 mm reel?
Five slits of 79 mm (395 mm). With 25 m rolls that is 5 × 240 = 1,200 rolls per 6000 m reel, before losses.
Does the calculator include core and wastage?
Yes — enter your core cost per roll and a wastage percentage for edge trim, splices and start-up loss. Labour, power, packing and freight are not included.
